Synopsis:
Four generations under one roof. All women. Not a single man. That’s how four women live in Pärnu, Estonia’s fourth-largest city. Adele, her daughter Marta, granddaughter Kersti, and great-granddaughter Liisbet. Not once has a man ever lived in this pre-independence era house—or at least none that the neighbors or fellow townsfolk have seen. Yet this is a family that is held in a certain regard. Each generation tries to be better than the one before. None of us wants to repeat our parents’ mistakes. And yet we always do, in our own way and with the best of intentions.
